For this opera, Verdi set to music a well-known story called “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” Falstaff is the main character of the drama. He is old and pot-bellied, but considers himself to be very appealing to women. Two young ladies decide to play a joke on him. They set up a trap, certain he will fall into it because he is so foolish and full of himself. After this, old Falstaff will think twice before saying he is a great seducer of women! Cristina Marsi and Ingrid Kuris introduce us to Verdi’s world with simple text and beautiful illustrations.
